Baby, you're so classic....

What happened to old fashion romance? Cute dates? Asking parents permission to take a girl out? Leaving room for Jesus while dancing? Where's it all gone?

Okay, so I regularly get called ancient by my siblings, baring in mind I'm yet to turn 20, but I do think that our generation has lost some of the magic and cuteness previous generations have had.

I think that maybe we should bring back some of the cuter aspects of dating that our parents and grandparents had. I'm sure most of us have heard the loved phrase “back in my/our day we….” Well maybe they have a point. No, I'm definitely not saying our parents are always right or always have a point when they use that phrase, my mother uses it a lot when I complain about slow Wi-Fi, she quips me with “back in my day you had to go to the library to do all your homework and if you wanted to talk to your friends you’d have to visit them or write a letter….” I'm not going to lie, I do tend to zone out when my mother flashes back to her younger self and her real life struggles, but when she talks about dates its pretty cute.

We should actually ASK people out on dates. Stop asking to “hang out” or “if you're free we could” or “I'm bored…” If you don’t ask, you don’t get. Do it. Seriously it would be appreciated to be asked out on a date. Like come find me and be like “hey, I was thinking we could go out for lunch and then take a trip to the history museum because they have a new exhibition opening and I though we could go check it out together.” YES.

I think a guy should knock on the door and meet my parents. I think it would be cute. I'm not saying it would have to be the first date because that is SO heavy, but I think If we’d been dating a while and he picked me up and knocked on my door whilst I came down the stairs, that would be cute.

Bring a cute little gift. Doesn’t have to be big or fancy, a flower, my favourite sweets, something cute. I'm not asking for something all the time but sometimes it would be sweet.

Dressing up. I feel like we have to be casual about everything. Its boring. I do NOT want to dress up all the time but sometimes it would be fun. If you’re taking me out for dinner, then lets both dress up. Let’s pretend we’re FANCY. Also we can take some snazzy selfies.

Be a gent. Open doors, push my seat in. pal, it’s the cutest things when guys do the whole “ladies first…” NO not all the time but if we’re being cute go for it. I’ll totally pretend I'm way to fragile to open the door my self.

I'm not a fan of dancing with guys in clubs. Don’t get me wrong I love going out and having fun but GRINDING with strangers is NOT my thing. So let’s bring back classy dancing. Think movies like ‘The Notebook’ and 'HSM' rather than all that 'bump and grind' business.

How about we don’t sit on our phones? Let’s pretend other people don’t exist for a while. Let’s talk. Lets flirt. Let’s ask questions. Let’s hold hands.

DO NOT EXPECT SEX. Maybe we could end on a goodnight kiss. A hug at the door. It shouldn’t always be an expectation. Its cuter. I promise.

I’ve been on ONE date throughout my whole 19 years of living. By choice, I promise, I had never wanted to go on a date before, but this time I did and it was SUPER cute. We did all of the above (except the parents, he met my flatmate and shook his hand *awwww*) and it was INCREDIBLE. There isn’t a single thing I would change about it.

Home is wherever I'm with you...

So the end of my first year at uni came and I was time to leave our university halls. My home for my first year at uni. My first London home (independent of my mother). My little flat in the big city.

As scary as it was moving in, I couldn’t even begin to explain how exciting it was. I've loved outside of London since I was 7. So come back is pretty much all I've wanted. I've had one of the best years ever, don’t get me wrong there have been so many UPS and DOWNS, but without that my year would have been sooooo boring. I've met some cool people, some incredibly lame people, and made some F A B friends. So many lessons were learnt and a lot of realisations happened this year but I feel like I've changed for the better.

Moving home was a welcome relief, in all honesty. The last month at uni, when everyone knows it's all coming to an end, our friends from home are starting to return, our parents are expecting us back, our old schools are planning reunions, and our local clubs are holding events to get everyone back together, people started to realise that they needed to prepare for a summer without the people they’ve just spent the last 9 months seeing almost 24/7.

A lot changed over the last month of uni. I did more spontaneous things, I stopped caring about what everyone was doing as a group and decided to do things even if the others didn’t want to and I had a lot of F U N.

People broke up for the summer and people got back together. We've all done what is most convenient for ourselves.

I miss everyone a lot. A ridiculous amount. But I'm having an A M A Z I N G time at home. I'm spending tonnes of time with my best friends, were going out, staying in and just having a lot of fun. I've managed to visit my old school and actually enjoyed it. (Considering I said I never wanted to go back, I had a great time; it's nice not feeling like a child anymore!)

I think moving back is a big change, but I think it came at the right time. Everyone needs a break and I think we've all missed everyone from home. It gives us time to spend with those who matter before we have to move away again.

So if you enjoyed reading that, and you’ve moved back home or you'd like to go somewhere, anywhere or everywhere, feel free to be an angel and share it, like it, and tweet about.

May S T R E S S...

Being in a frustrating situation is the worst.

Trust me, the whole of MAY was a frustrating situation.

First I had exams. Then I had boy dilemmas, then I had unnecessary hate and on top of that I had to find an outfit for a boat party.

Obviously I focused on my exams. Studying every day. BORING. But worth it. Remember start revision early and find little things to motivate yourself. It'll be worth it in the end.

My boy dilemma. I dealt with this by writing an open letter. This means it was a running letter of my thoughts to this guy. The catch is you do not send it. You write down your thoughts, capture them, and then you can do what you want with them.

I wrote all my feelings down. It actually made me feel SO much better. Because it can be so confusing having all these thoughts in your head, with everything else going on at the same time, it's nice to have what you're thinking at the time and be able to get it out.

Avoid social media at times of stress. This is unnecessary stress that nobody needs. There will always be someone being pathetic and bitchy, or something that'll make you jealous, or something that'll distract you. S T O P. Let the media go. Just while the stress is still there. It'll be worth it. And this eliminates bitchiness and pettiness on social media because it's just so silly and juvenile.

Finding a dress was probably the easiest problem of this stressful period. After figuring out I wanted to look I N C R E D I B L E. I wanted to be seen in a sexy and lacy dress. So I trawled the internet and found the perfect dress. Let me tell you, it was a hit. It fitted incredibly, it was very me, and it was even described as "like taking the dress off of a bond girl". So overall that was a relatively easy one.

Birthday presents 🎁🎉✨

There are two types of people; those who L O V E buying birthday presents and those who H A T E it.

I love it when I get to buy presents for the people I love and care about. I buy little gifts for people all the time. Things I think they'd like. But when it comes to birthdays it is a lot of pressure.

So here's how to buy a b a n g i n g birthday present for someone:

1. Put some thought into it. Don't buy something that's pretty or something you'd like. I'd personally rather have something that someone thought about. I recently bought something for someone because a while back they lost a coat and it's pretty much the same coat.

2. Make sure they'll use it. Don't buy something they'll lose. Or something they already have twenty of. If they won't use it on a regular basis, what function does it serve?

3. Will it make them smile? Will it remind them of a fond memory? A stupid night out? Will it make them think of you? Of something you once did together? Because if it makes them smile they'll probably be more inclined to keep it.

4. Personal touches. Personalise it. Make it yours and theirs. Write a little note on it, draw something on it, make it smell like you when they open it.

5. Is it a milestone? If so you gotta go B I G. Trust me everyone likes their birthday to be special, but go hard or go home on a milestone birthday. It only happens once so make it a good one.

6. Wrap it. Box it. Make sure it's fun to open. Everyone likes to open something pretty. Add some glitter in the card. Add a bow on the box. Make it presentable because they'll know you spent time on it.

7. Alcohol. This is always a sure winner with pretty much 16+. Be responsible, but it can be cute and personal. One of my favourite gifts I've received has been alcohol. So this is a sure bet and a great keepsake.

So if you enjoyed reading that, and it was at all helpful when trying to pick birthday presents, you could share it, like it, and tweet about.

G Y M....

What to do when uni is done?

What to do when you've got no life?

What to do when all you do is eat?

Join the G Y M.

So I joined the gym because I need to focus on myself. I need to get fitter for the summer. Because I need to look my best for my own benefit. No I'm not doing it to impress anyone. I'm doing it for myself.

The 3rd of June, I joined my local gym, well there's a few but I like swimming so I joined the Hilton, and signed up full of genuine excitement.

Jess and I bought some amazing shoes. Considering we don't wear anything other than heeled boots this was a m a s s i v e change for us.

Look at this bad boy. This is the closest thing to all black my local store had. They're pretty p i m p some might say.

But I'm kinda in love with my new Nike Free 5.0.

We also bought some tight fit work out pants. They're super comfy and I could happily die in them. They also make our arses look F A N T A S T I C.

So the gym is going really well. We pretty much go everyday. I actually feel awful when I can't go.

So I recommend joining a gym. Take an hour out to work out, because it actually makes me feel fabulous.

Sweating is not my thing and this was my life motto...

But now my outlook is more like...

So, if you're a motivated little nacho, and you're gonna strut your way to the gym on the way to become and even more incredible you and if you enjoyed reading this then share it, like it and tweet about.
